Woody, I have contacted Mark from Stewarts and can get a new water pump shipped out of the USA for $195 plus $65 for shipping.

Thanks for that information Bruce.I didn't realise that the fan clutch would fail and cause issues! Geez, Looks like if I go down that road I will need to replace that, perhaps the fan itself as well. I will PM you to get details on the fan and stat numbers along with any technical problems you encountered to do the job. This seems like the preferred option as it gives HP as well.

Tony, I don't understand how the mod frees up HP but many people say that. Thanks for the confirmation.

Hi Cooper the reason you will get albeit small HP gain is that the original fan is driven via the vee or poly-vee belt directly from the engine crankshaft, whereas the electric fan is driven by an electric motor completely independently of the cars engine. I hope that makes sense, cheers Tony.;)

The Stewart pumps are much dearer but I guess with a lifetime guarantee they are worth it for piece of mind
