Good evening all!

I am at a bit of a loss on what to do next with this situation. Keep in mind that I am not the most mechanically savvy. Wanted to post here since I've been reading on a lot of very helpful posts when trying to diagnose this.

Our 98 BMW Z3 Coupe 2.8L all of a sudden decided to stop working. We parked it somewhere, next hour went for the car and it would not start. Has refused to start since.

Battery is good. Starter works. Checked fuel pressure and it's also good, however it seems to not be going into the engine, as I removed one sparkplug and I could not smell gas at all inside the engine, even after trying to start it a few times.

Someone suggested crankshaft sensor, which we just replaced and no change. If we hook up the OBD and look at the live data for revs, it does not move even when cranking. Maybe the connection is bad, not the sensor?

Any suggestion on what to look at? The problem seems to be that it's not injecting fuel into the engine, as I think there is also spark (did not test visually but when I removed the sparkplug I could smell it as if it had fired).

Let me know if there is any information that I can share to help!

Do you know if the injectors are receiving a signal? There are "Node Lights" available that check for signals at the injectors. This would be tested to see if the injector is receiving a voltage to fire. As for the crank position sensor, there seems to have been issues with this in the past from what I have seen. I would check the sensor to see if it is good and then try and check for breaks in the harness.
Good luck!
