Blue is tucked up away in the garage for winter now Whilst I’m hording parts for a rear beam refresh in the spring.

The M3 (name yet to be determined) had new rubber & brakes all round today. The bank manger had a heart attack :facepalm:

Love the rear lights on the facelift models. I need to do all of these things on my e92 plus a front suspension overhaul but keep putting it off because of how much it'll cost! Those wheels do look great.

Looking very nice indeed. The temptation to go 18"s+ on my zed is real. The choice goes up 10x and those m359s would look the biz on a zed too.

Zeds tucked up in the garage for the winter so the daily and 2nd toy got a clean.

So for the past couple of weeks I’ve been on the hunt for the extended leather centre console and dash in the Fox Red colour for my E93 M3.

Unfortunately, any extended leather parts a very rare and expensive.

By shear luck I was trawling eBay (as you do) and an extended leather centre console came up. The seller didn’t know what they had and it was just advertised as a standard centre console. The leather was beige, but that wasn’t a problem. £27 later and 2 days I had it and ready to start the colour change.

After close inspection there was some minor marks on the top and the passenger side.

First job was to clean off all the dirt and grease. Baby wipes are great for cleaning down leather
Then some leather prep was used to remove all top coats and key the leather ready for the new colour.
The filler layers were built up slowly to ensure the final surface finish was flat and smooth.

The plastic was then masked up and ready for the colouring stage.

The leather had 6 coats of colour, and then 4 top coats of Satin leather sealer.

Very happy with the outcome. :D

Then another stroke of luck I was able to get hold of an extended leather glovebox lid.

Stripped the lid away from the glovebox and removed the handle. Again, the same process was followed for cleaning down, prep, colouring and top coat.

Last week I managed to source an extended leather dash in black. A trip to Sheffield and it was in the boot of the X5 :ymdevil:

So using my winter evenings wisely, in preparation for this weekend, the dash was cleaned down, prepped and coloured.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any finished photos as I completely forgot and it was very late.

All was done and ready for the full install on Saturday.
