Hello chaps,
When I purchased my Z3 it came with the original amplifier & speaker system. The cones were perished and the amplifier produced simply awful sound. So last August I took the plunge and had a descent sound system fitted. A mate of mine is in the business and did the fit for me. Audison, the amplifier company, showed an interest in the project. Their systems are normally fitted to newer, high end cars. They asked 'Driving Sounds' magazine to do a piece on the project. I attach the article that is currently available on the Driving Sounds website.
The system sounds amazing. Its configured to give the best sounds from the original BMW headunit and CD stacker. It has settings for top down and top up driving. Settings can be configured using a laptop via a USB interface in the boot. The boom boom box (in the boot) really does take it to another level.
The article also gives a bit about my own background.

I hope some of you get something out of this.
Cheers.
Andy.
