It's great loads more torque and freer revving at the redline with the new ECU, but it was so wet, and the car is now even more juicey! By a long way!

G'day Andy!

Could you please elaborate your brake settings? I'm struggeling with choosing between the 330i upgrade or just do 300mm upgrade (carrier swap).

I'd like to go for 300mm as this would be approx 6.5kg ligther that the 330 upgrade.

If understand correctly you is now running, 300mm with ferodo pads (same pads as I plan). What is your experience on track with these? Getting warm and swamped brakes?

I'm really worry about weight! ( Driver could just loose 10kg to compensate tough ;-) )
Thanks!

Yes 300mm z3 3.0 brake callipers and carriers. Ferodo ds2500 pads a custom fog light to rear of hub cooling pipe and no arch liner has so far been good enough on 15 min track sessions

I have a set of e36 M3 callipers, carriers and new discs and pads, but need to replace hub to fit, can’t be arsed really as stopping power is pretty good, with great tyres I might want better brakes, but I can’t afford £800-1000 on tyres

Im not to worried about stopping power with 300mm disc, more worried about temp and unsprung weight.

Sounds like you have resolved the temp issue! I plan similar brake cooling solution in front and some duct/air guide solution on the rear.

Think I will try 300mm first and take it from there. And just stock up the 330i brakes.
300mm will also provide the current bias, which I’m quite happy with.

You probably aware of it, but e46 330 bolts straight on. Albeit the e36 m3 is probably lighter and a better upgrade.

Thanks for feedback!

(Time to update my own thread, a lot has happen...)

You should have put a bag on the rack and left it on!

I cleaned my windscreen, checked fluids, wheel nuts, pressures, brakes, fluids and removed loose change from inside...didn’t wash and wax though, hope it’ll be ok

Hoping for some civil drivers, not the local banger champions (of which Kent has a lot surprisingly!)
