Hi Guys
Just noticed the cupholder on Tony's Zed and his comments. How does this piece fit onto the existing central column? I have ashtray (don't smoke) in which I keep the office keys and an elongated tray for sunglasses etc.
I could use this space much better for my Costa!

Hi MM,

Unscrew the ashtray and screw in the cup holder unit and slot in the cup holders should do the trick :)

I did some modifications on the mounting of the cup holder onto the original centre console as it is very insecure if you rely on the fixings it comes with. I will post some photo's when I locate them. Feel free to remind me over this weekend.

Tony.

Hey mate, before you commit check out Southern Boy on the zroadster.net forum He supplied my armrest but he is now producing on which doesn't require the BMW cup holder.( £50.00 ) If you send him a PM quote me as recommendation.

@Southernboy is a member here so you can message him directly. He has already asked about selling his stuff here, and he has been told he is welcome to ;)

Hi Gaz, sorry I didn't realise Barry was on here, I've not seen him post. I for one can vouch for his item.:)

Will contact Sopers for a price for the unit. Look forward to the pics, Tony.

Hey MM, I found my photo's. All I did was, rather than rely on the 2 screws through the bottom of the cup holder into just thin plastic I drilled the screw holes but then made a slot near to them into which I inserted 2 speed nuts so that the mounting screws then fasten into a hardened steel clip which also "sandwiches" the plastic bottom of the cup holder. There were 2 small lugs on the bottom of the cup holder that I removed to allow flush fitting into the old centre console. Hope this makes sense.

Hi guys..... Still finding my way around the forum.... I had a message from Kev this morning about armrests... so here goes.
2 options. 1. the "traditional" armrest fitted to the OEM cupholder, which is great if you don't mind losing some storage. 2. I have designed an optional armrest which fits without losing any storage, and which also retains the integrity of the OEM status of your car.... As someone mentioned, the size of the cup holder might be a tad small, this can be changed to a larger size without any difficulty... I will need someone to advise me though. (measure the diameter in my existing cupholder, and let me know how much larger - in mm - it would need to be)
All these armrests are upholstered in leather and come with fitting instructions. The OEM cupholder version requires you to buy one from wherever - eBay etc etc...
"Traditional version"

New version.... available in Black framework or Silver framework....
