Archived Any interest in a new type of event. Thoughts.....?

GREAT IDEA DO IT!!!:D:p:thumbsup:

Derbyshire is the middle (well northern Midlands).
The real tough northerners begin a bit further up I believe ;)
Think what Shelly meant was half way between Derbyshire and the South .
But obviously not happening so academic.

Nothing good in the middle of Derbyshire and London except a few racetracks!

@Mac Romans, Duncan (La_vida_diver) ran an event down in the West Country a few years back on similar lines which we attended. It was an individual challenge and you had to work out the location clues first then drive there. You then got points for answering the question(s) when you'd got to the location. More points for the further distances and no chance of getting round all of the locations as it was time limited. You had to decide which clues to go for and then plot a route. I think he called it a 'Navigational Scatter Exercise'.

Count 'The Mints' in - date dependant of course;)

We run something very close to what Dave mentioned and have questions , etc. To ensure marriages stay put we switch partners and also put driver's license in a sealed envelope to prevent unlawful acts but I don't know how that would work with all your spies cameras over there. Switching partners give a chance to work together with someone other than a spouse or girlfriend or boyfriend! JIM

Me and Shirl were thinking of adding an element of this type of thing to the Sept. 10th.run.

Got an idea for you matey boy, you could call it the 'Spot Big Ears Challenge'.
i.e. you go out and hide somewhere out on the rout and challenge people to find you.

Mind you, it would have to be something pretty bloody big to hide behind......:D

we are up for it & if it takes off i will buy a trophy which can be awarded every year to the winning person / team

Sounds a good idea Mac .
We'd be up for it,would we be grouped or is it an individual thing ?.
Small groups mate 2-4cars each to keep it sociable and fun. The "competition" would be just for fun really. It's just a different way for us all to meet up and get out but without the worry of groups getting spit up at junctions.

It's 2 hours for you to get up to Derbyshire. Hardly a world cruise really. People travel that distance regularly to join a meet.

Agree i have to travel over 2 ours when we attend the North Wales cruises and also around 1.5 hours to do any north of Leeds and even to do Lincoln is over an hour. The Lakes is around 2.5 hours. Anything south is 2 hours plus for us. But the fun is your driving the Z to get to them

I've been up and down the country in the last two years for events and loved every minute but I started to think 'wouldn't it be great if there was an event on my doorstep'.... so last year I made one with @Twin Turbo. If you fancy something close to home nothing is impossible when you set some planning time aside.
