My indicators didn't fit either. I didn't recess. I cut the bullet body with tin snips to change the angle.

That bonnet bulge does look big. I haven't unpacked my bonnet lid yet so don't know what I've got. If it's that big I'll have to move it. Don't fancy that. Big flat surfaces are a pig to get correct.

@10stb do you have a before and after of your bulge mod?

Coming along nicely there Piran. Well done 👏

Have you raised the bonnet bulge. I've moved mine about 6 to 8 inches further up the bonnet as I felt it was too close to the front. This has reduced the height but I don't remember mine being as high as yours. Yours, like Dan's will be slightly different to mine as I have the 1st production one, that had slightly different lines. It's needed loads of fettling in areas (particularly front indicators) that Dan's mould didn't. I've had to recess the indicators as they pointed downwards when fitted to the bodywork. Dan's fitted perfectly.
Thanks. I haven't changed anything on mine, the fibreglass work isn't something I've had to do before and not something I'm comfortable with. I've started to build out for the passenger headlight but not got to the indicator yet. First pass on the headlight was building up behind the bowl and then prepare to make it wider for the chrome trim and blend in the curve.

I moved the bulge up about 6"
The original doesn't look like it sits as high as Pirans.

I had to do a similar thing on my near side

Might be an optical illusion...or maybe the lighter colour makes it look taller 🤔

She is back on her wheels so that I can get the headlights sorted. Handy tip: make sure that the handbrake is on when you lower the car - I've just run myself over with it.View attachment 286205
Have to say Piran that the body sits really nicely above your wheels. Mine sits high but may be a mixture of being sat up on stands for a while and smaller wheels.

Have you trial fitted your door skins. They take fettling to the next level 😂

I've been leaving the doors till last - not looking forward to those, there are times when a set of poppers to open the door without fitting a handle could be tempting

The bonnet bulge on @10stb 's car does look lower but,, as he said, it may just be the color. I just measured mine. It's just under 2 inches so pretty high. I can't live with that. It's got to go down and back.

@10stb , do you have a progress thread?

I normally do a progress report on the tribute owners Facebook page.....plus loads of WhatsApps to Dan 😂

It allows builders to see how other people solved problems and gives them ideas. It also gives you great ideas on what to avoid and not to do!
Madaboutkitcars was an excellent site but now defunct but you can still access build threads on it.
