Ever since we've had the zed there has been an annoying rattle, mainly noticeable with the roof up.
After reading @Faheem's recent thread it inspired me to trace the source of my rattle, recently I could hear it with the roof down as well .
So after reading where others had found there's and ruled them out I narrowed it down to the spare wheel carrier.
Long story short, removed the spare wheel and carrier tonight and hey presto the annoying rattle has gone :D.
SO NOW that's out the way there's room for a quad exhaust .

Steve

Oh yeah, pull the other one ................................=)) Don't forget you'll need one of @spurs fan in a coupe plug in compressor and a tin of tyre weld now mate:)

Tony.

No seriously mate, saw Gookha's quad system also on a 2.8 cost £270 but you have to cut the bumper your self :nailbiting:. Sounds really nice as well ;).
Always carry a little compressor in the zed just need a can of tyre weld now.

I had to cut the rear bumper on my Eunos when I fitted a twin pipe rear end on that, it's easy. I simply held some cardboard over the inside of the LH cut out and drew around it with a felt tip pen. Cut that out, turned it over and used that as a template for the RH cut out.

Absolutely Steve, I'll demo what I mean tomorrow, but if you get one we can fit it here if you want.

Said for years now that the spare wheel carriers are utterly pointless on the Z3. Bin it and either save weight to increase you power to weight ratio, or go for the quad exhaust! Either way you are on to a winner Boz.

Absolutely agree Gaz, the most pointless piece of a Z3 has to be the spare wheel and carrier. I can't understand why people go to the bother of replacing/re-furbing it. I never lowered or even looked at the one on my Z3 and I imagine it is totally useless. BMW finally saw the light with the Z4, OK they come with run-flat tyres but it is easily covered with a small plug in compressor and a can of tyre-weld.

Trouble is I've opened a can of worms now with this modding game it just snow balls......but I like it......till Sara finds out :blackeye:.

That's the kiddy Steve, but that's mega expensive :wideyed:

Steve
Any decent centre can make a quad for half that. Shocking price, almost getting in to Eisenmann territory

Have a word with Ant mate and see if the place who did his exhaust can give you a quote.

Will do mate but I'm sure Gookha said his was £270 supplied and fitted once you cut the bumper yourself, which sounds superb value.

She's gonna kill you Steve =)) Does the carrier just unbolt? Mine needs to come off. Not had a wheel in there for 3 years.
