Went in early this morning and finished the front end so the car is rolling again, had a spare hour so started stripping the donor inner sill ready for next week, I intend to have the donor sills grit blasted before fitting, this will remove any rust and all the old underseal,
The car started first turn of the key and was as sweet as a nut, got me all excited, I even opened the electric hood and sat dreaming for a few minutes

“Managed to grab an hour today and got one side almost built up, I have done the caliper mat grey as I want a neutral colour due to the bright colour that the exterior is going to be.”

Yellow struts are neutral compared to the body colour ?

Can’t wait :)

Ah but you can't see the struts with the wheels on, ;)

Slow going, I'm still working on the off side, inner sill will be welded on tomorrow, I got underneath today and noticed the edge of the underseal on the main chassis was starting to peel on the edge, I was quite shocked when I started to pull it back, it was completely compromised not much corrosion but had this been left it would go down hill, gave it a good seeing to with a strip and clean disc, this will be etch primed and resealed with Novol stone guard.

You're making great progress mate.
Slow progress Phil, but may as well do it all whilst I'm under there, I was hoping to catch the end of summer and get over to the Lakes but I think it will be next year now, we are just so busy in the shop, I have decided it will not roll out of the shop until it is complete, including the interior.

It helps that you have alot of experience doing all of this before.
When I get a spare hour, I try and undo 1 bolt somewhere, swear alot, stop the dog from walking away with anyone who walks past, then tidy up and call it a day :(
