Just received another parcel from coopers BMW with a few goodies just wondering whether to get a new windscreen or not now is there any kits available to get rid of light chips and marks?

Does your car insurance not cover this?
It does over here and a new windscreen would only cost me Euro 100.00 fitted and no problem with my no claims.

They use people like this.......

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

It's not insured at the mo and need it done before its back on the road so far a new screen is £200. I'll bare the 10pound hammer in mind TWS I'll wait and see what badman says ;)

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

can you not wait until its on the road and insured then put in a claim if it gets worse?

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Well the screen needs to come out as I pulled off the rubber surround to spray it. I have a new rubber but might just get the screen resealed and see what it's like.

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

if you do get a new screen i'd go for a bmw one. i had a pattern one and it generated a load of wind noise, bmw picked up on it straight away at the dealership.

Ok thanks James it was BMW that quoted me £200 but I have a friend that may be able to get me it cheaper. Thanks

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

:-bd even better. drove me nuts having a whistling noise at around 45mph upwards 'till it got chipped and had to be replaced, so insisted on a bmw screen the second time round :)

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

ooo what are those tiny little things on the bags top left of photo... look like you could lose them quite easily :(

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Majority of them are clips and screw caps snoops nothing exciting really I also got a windscreen rubber, Numberplate holder, bumper mesh and a chrome boot lock surround oh yeah and a light wallet ;)

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

How much was the number plate holder if you don't mind me asking :D

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

£17.84 + vat thats for an M one though but I think the standard ones are about the same.

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Remember the ///M number plate holders were colour coded so hope you have some paint left.

Yeah still got a few litres left maybe 4 :D got a few more just incase any problems arise which reminds me not to let the missus drive ;)

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

While the weather was half decent at the weekend I managed to get the interior plastics painted. The blue I had mixed up is a bit shinier and darker than I wanted but hey ho, I did ask for matte but it'll do as zedfest is coming fast! I put the dash put back into the car tonight and took a few pics of what the console will look like.
I've also extended the wires for the on board computer to relocate it at the rear of the ashtray, next thing is to cut the wires for the asc switch and put a new block on to match up with the facelift switch. The guages I have fitted are prosport and are oil temp and pressure, and a voltmeter.

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

It's looking great. That's why I chose to cover my console because I couldn't find a Matt paint that I was happy with. Yours looks really good though. Super job :)

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Looks very professional, amazingly well done! :ymapplause:

Can't remember Daz, but I presume that you have got Blue seats?? :-?
