It turned out not to be what it was advertised to be Not even washed prior to me arriving - not a problem but would have been nice. A lot of the rubber had perished, door handles and aerial, easy fixed I know. Very rusty rear subframe. It has had the head gasket done recently too and the engine bay is as manky as!! It pulled ok but didn't seem overly fast or torquey. We all know these cars need some TLC but I just didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling for some reason. Real shame but as they say, a fool and his money are easily parted.
Head gasket on a 2.8 is not common at all, the rest can be sorted easily but a dodgy HG is best avoided unless you know how bad the issue was and how well it's been repaired.

The head gasket was done by the garage next door and apparently cost the seller (who trades on the site) £1000 with oils etc. I'd asked for the car to be cold when I arrived but it had been started and was well warmed up. He was asking 2k and wouldn't budge at all.

True mate, but at least they're all the same size (unless you've stuck a lump of fibreglass to the boot lid) and there's no comparing sizes and any "Does my as look wide in this shot" ;)=))=))=))

Tony.

Hi Simon, I will quote my granddaughter who said when I asked if she preferred the z4 or z3 " I would like the z3 gramppa because it looks like a sports car and the z4 is just too big looking" out of the mouth of an eight year old at that time. I didn't know myself which I preferred so wasn't pointing her in any one direction. She had seen examples of both cars and knew which she preferred. I also agreed after looking at them both and don't regret the choice as this will be hers when she graduates!! JIM
