I fitted a Kienzle MCR 1114 to mine. Looks discreet and oem enough for me. No orange backlight is the only flaw.

Where did you find the chrome lighter plug, and hazard switch. I just bought my Z before winter, and haven't done much more than try to bring the motor up to snuff. The interior is sad. It's all beige, all plastic, and not well taken care of. The stereo is what I'm trying to work out now. I have the HK system, and the amp on the right in the trunk looks like it melted inside, and I'm hoping it was the bass amp. Anyone know how to unlock an oem unit asking for the code if you don't have it. The fuse was blown when I got the car, and once I figured out the amp thing, it held, but I didn't receive any books with the car.
Lighter plug is off Ebay and the switch is part of the chrome interior pack that came with the car, @Faheem should be able to help with the stereo code
Oem original all the way for me. No Bluetooth and don’t want it I’ll except no calls when driving the Z3 it’s my time and no one else’s 
@BimmerJunkie if you send through the serial number of your radio I will try and see if I can dig out the code for you.

I’ve fitted an Alpine CDE-178 unit with the KTP power pack, massive difference even on the stock speakers. Will work on them in the future.

So quick update. I went with a JVC KDX350BTS. Got it on sale for $60, with Bluetooth and it has adjustable colors so it matches good enough for my OCD. Sorry for the crappy pic of.
