A tragedy had happened.

Ian, there is possibility everywhere of danger from some degree of failure or misuse, but lets keep things realistic mate, the risk can be minimised to an acceptable level. I'll take my chances with battery powered LEDs. Lets not get into the realms of scare mongering eh?
All I'm saying is that there is no problem if they are treated correctly. Most people think they are 100% safe despite what you do to them.
Just because it's small don't assume it is entirely harmless.

That's awful mate.

Tony
Yes not nice at all, even worse this time of year for family.
Just shows though mate what happened at the weekend can happen to anyone, anywhere at any time. We have to live our lives.

Horrible to hear about Dave. Don't see any major delays resulting from closures that normally result from that kind of incident. Hopefully it wasn't as bad as you fear.
It was around 0530 mate. I drove back passed the scene around 11.00, the road was fully open but the offending vehicle was still sat in the hard shoulder and several police and others were still at the scene. I hope your right though Ian.

We have both types on and in the house but never leave them on if going out or to bed.
I Remember the curtains catching fire in the front room at Christmas 1955 when my mother used candles on the tree and placed the tree too near the curtains, 8 children looked on in terror as my father pulled the curtains down and mum went to get a bowl of water. Father's hands and arms were burnt but he never once complained, at the time he was a retained John Dickens paper mill trained fireman, we never had candles again. He always argued with mum how dangerous the tree could be. It's made me very fire aware over the years.
Feel for this family who got caught in the fire, the father if he survives will no doubt wish he hadn't. So so sad at any time of year but more so at Christmas with children involved.

RHA, Roy.

Looks like the M40 was open by 06:30 or not long afterwards. Can't find anything on any local news feeds Dave, so as there wasn't any post-accident investigations which would have taken if it was risk of a fatal it looks like whoever was involved will be OK. Lane 3 was closed for a while.
Hopefully you can put your mind at rest a little.
