A Great Day at the Porsche Museum, Stuttgart.

So were Aston Martin, in the form of David Brown(e) ie. DB 5, 6 etc.

I can see a "super tractor rally" coming on :D

Swallow sidecars, hence the SS demarcation of the early cars if I recall right.

Lambo were building tractors before they started building cars.

Mr Lamborghini was a wealthy man, through his tractor manufacturing business and decided to start building super cars after a row with Enzo Ferrari, so the story goes.

Apparently his new Ferrari wasn't quite what he was expecting and went straight to the man at the top to vent his feelings. Mr Ferrari said "there's nothing wrong with the car, it's the way you are driving it, anyway, how do you expect a tractor driver to know how to drive a sports car"

This p***** off Mr Lamborghini so he said he would show Mr Ferrari how to build a proper sports car, the rest is legend.

I don't know if this is true, but it's a great conversation starter at the bar :beer

That's what I either heard or read somewhere Garry.

Tony.

It's a similar story with Godlieb Damiler Carl Benz. They couldn't agree on designs etc so although never met in person went their separate ways building two seperate brands. Mercedes was the name of Carl Benz daughter.
