A full guided tour and I must say I was most impressed, highly recommended.

The World's first road going production electric car, late 1890's. 25kph and a range of 50 km. The battery weighed 550kg and was heavier than the car behind.

911 No.1. Interestingly Porsche have the ignition key on the left. Myths;
It was quicker to get away at Le Man as you could start the car and put it in gear
The copper wire was shorter, saving weight
Ferdinand Porsche was left handed.

Nobody really knows.

This USA 24hr racer was deemed to look like a fat pig so 2hrs before the race it was painted pink with all the cuts of meat you can get from a pig.

Mega mate. Not at all jealous!! :arghh:. BMW Munich is on our list.
Well worth the trip mate, if you book circa 6 months in advance you can get a tour of the factory over the road.

Oh, the 911 was originally designated the 901 until it was pointed out that somebody else had the 901 name. 112 901's were made, worth a fortune apparently.

We used to have them over here in the 80's, best police you could ever bump into, if you were being naughty, they would drive up along side you and wag a finger at you and then shoot off.

Used to wear white uniforms and peanut helmets.

In the best traditions of fashion. I remember them well mate from when we lived in Donderberg near Roermond.

I still wear one when on my bike! Circa 1963 and have a couple of others, 0ne like a riding helmet for horses that has a built in beak and is even older. While you're in Stuttgart you should also hit up the M-B museum. Well worth the trip. Found I owned four of the models on show but not nearly in as good condition unfortunetly!! JIM

Sadly mate, not a chance :(

I can see I'm going to have to save my pennies and put a Porsche on my bucket list.

Don't go there mate, you will not have any pennies left.
A mate of mine took his duck tailed 911 to a race day at Zandvoort and blew the block.
Took him 8 months to get the money saved to get it rebuilt.
