Hi. My name is William and l am the proud owner of a 1999 Z3 2.8. I call him 'Bruce' as he was 'Born in the USA' afterall. I look forward to gleaning information on various issues as no handbook came with the car when l bought it. If anyone can help me locate a hardcopy l would appreciate it. I have downloaded an e-copy but its not the same as a paper copy you can hold in your hands and flick through the pages.

Just been looking on ebay for the handbook you are after and there are some for sale but asking more than £45. Has Spurs fan or Orinocco got one in the cars they are/have broken.

Hi Kit. Thanks for replying to my first posting. I am not very computer literate and my wife keeps me right. l will try and post a few photos asap. I took several photos today on my tablet but will need to ask my long suffering wife how to post.

Just to clarify, Bruce is a reference to 'Bruce' Springstein and his song ' Born in the USA'. As you know all Z3's were built in the USA, hence my pet name for my Z3. My MOT is due tomorrow so hope all will be well.

CURRENT PROBLEM: My CD player in the car is ejecting CDs as soon as l put them in. It also states 'CD ERROR' onthe radio display. I have tried using a CD cleaning disc but it has not made any difference. Any thoughts?

Hi Shelly. Thanks for taking the time to say hello and welcome me to the forum. This is my first time on any forum and l am not very computer literate. I just blunder through and l call upon my wife when l get in a pickle. MOT due tomorrow at 12 noon so Bruce should pass. We have a different system in Northern Ireland for MOTs. We have a dozen or so government test centres across the Province, unlike your approved local garages on the mainland.

Nice to liaise with you and keep in touch. I will try and post a few photos as soon as l work out how to do it. I think
l will need to call upon my wife for her expertise. William

Photo's are really easy William, I learned how fairly quickly so if I can anyone can. I'm still picking up how to/not to do some stuff but it's fun trying and there's no detention if your homework's not up to scratch. Have fun whatever you do.

Unfortunately, in Northern lreland here l live, there are fewer and fewer breakers yards, so it might take some time to locate a copy at a sensible price. Hi Mickey. Nice to hear from you. Looks like you have been to Hampton Court with your Z3. My wife and l visited H C Flower Show in 2013 when visiting our son who lives in Clapham South. Took a few photos today after washing Bruce prior to his MOT tomorrow. Will attempt to post them asap with a lot of help from my wife. Liaise soon. William
