47.8 MPG from a 2.8!

Pah high mpg is easy. Try getting low teens now that’s work ;)

For some reason if I leave the burger van on a Saturday in Basingstoke heading to the zedshed my fuel seems to leak out of somewhere. Well the mpg seems to go to low 20’s. No idea why. :ymdevil:

I am getting between 32mog to 35mpg with a mixture of driving. Has definitely improved after fitting a new front brake caliper. (3.0 model)

Just done 200 miles mostly motorway miles red light was on when I set off and took £30 of fuel red light came on again about 5 miles from home , I was taking it easy staying around 60 is which works out around 35 mpg not bad I thought for a 2.8 !!!!

Once I get my 2.8 on the road I plan on getting as little as possible and my first set of tyres probably wont last log either :D

umm ok maybe I was wrong to think there wasn't much difference in consumption between the 4 pot and 6, to be honest this was the original reason I opted for the 4 pot, I was in the market for a 350z but the z3 kept coming up in the results and little cogs started turning, then though ok what if I go the whole hog and go for the smaller one and save on fuel. running the 350z I would have needed a second mortgage, but if you think all of your fuel consumption is bad try running a jap import 2.2vtec OMG it was thirsty.

Well that makes me well pleased with the M. Last years Euro trip (shade over 3000k) she did 28mpg and given the company I was in that aint bad. And 32 mpg on last years Scottish week.

Here is my documented fuel history for my black 2.8 auto R10GJO from the day I bought it back on 13th December 2013 to the last fill up on 28th May 2018. For some reason (my computer incompetency) the date column hasn't copied =))

I've done the same for my Merc that goes back a few more years and I'm doing it for my other Zed too.

OCD or what? =))
Jesus mate, you need a hobby =))

I had 50.4mpg out of my 2l Z4 (Monty), one day when I got stuck behind a lorry for 24 miles.

You are not supposed to put a rope between you and the vehicle in front ;)

In my 3.2L Boxster I would often get 40MPG on a run, my excuse....I was keeping to speed limits due to average speed cameras

The MPG on my 2.2 is mid to late 20's but I have a sticky front brake calliper which obv won't be helping matters

I wondered why the car twitched every time we passed a petrol station.

My own 2.2 used to get 32mpg, went down to 30 or so when the inlet cam sensor died, and is now up to 35. Same bloke driving the same roads, perhaps the sensor had been going for a while.

Averaging around 40 from my 2.0 but that includes quite a lot of motorway driving at 70

try running a jap import 2.2vtec OMG it was thirsty.
I had a 2.2 UK spec 5th gen Prelude (the funny looking one, which I loved).
Very similar to my 330i and 2.8 in that if you kept under say 3.5k rpm (which is plenty on any of those) it would be 300+miles a tank...
However I bought a Honda for ‘VTEC yo’ so that didn’t happen much...
