Unfortunately, I am supposed to be painting the wheels on Saturday so the Vectra will have to be ready =)) however if the weather is good I think the vectra might just develop another problem ;)

Be nice to see another doughnut outside the Swan in September Hugh if you're free, especially in chrome blue.

I could live with orange :)
Maybe winter after next, the problem with the latest bright oranges is the paint process, they are not practical at all, you have to apply a coloured base, very often grey and then a metallic orange and then build the colour up with a number of pearl coats.

A similar experience with colour Sean just not on a car. When we bought our villa in Florida we had to blitz it over 4 weeks to fully furnish it and do accent painting and decorating and such. Our son and his girl friend were there for the painting and one wall in the master suite was to be gold. When we bought the paint at the local hardware and were told that the top coat would appear bright orange until it dried where the gold would emerge. You should've seen their faces when we got back from a shopping trip, we "forgot" to tell them.:ymdevil:=))

Got the car up on stands at the minute as I am painting all 4 wheels, I am going to adjust the handbreak in the morning, any tips, I'm also going to get underneath and have a good look, anything to look for apart from the obvious rear cross member, thats the first thing I checked before I bought it

Re- adjusting the hand brake Sean, firstly slacken off the cables inside the car as far as possible. Next you need to adjust the handbrake shoes through one of the wheel bolt holes until they're tight on the drum. Several light taps around the drum will centralise the shoes and may allow a little more adjustment. If not back off the adjuster 2-3 "clicks" and make sure the drum spins freely. Re-adjust the cables inside the car till you have 5-6 clicks on the handbrake. Lock up the locking nuts on the cables. Job done.:)

That was nice and easy thanks Tony, took all of 15 mins and hand break is now on the button, I also adjusted the drivers door as was getting some wind noise and gave it a final polish, looked outside and the sun was shining, didn't want to miss the opportunity so banged the wheels on, put the roof down and went out for a spin, got a couple of pics with the phone so not great quality

I have been driving rather gingerly and was beginning to think its a bit sluggish, however today I gave it some stick and have to say I was rather impressed, it certainly does benefit from high revs and pulls to red line point, in fact the last 1000 revs seem to be the best and the sound is amazing.

Nice pictures Sean, and that reminds me I intend painting the callipers on my Sterling Grey car in the next few weeks. trouble is, what colour?
I'm thinking a mid blue like the FB logo colour or even Kawasaki Lime Green just to be different, what you think as a painter mate. Bearing in mind that I'll soon have my 108's fitted too.

My 2.0 Auto in sport revs just past the red line before changing up, does sound nice.

You should know what I am like with colours Tony, mine was already red so left them at that, at least it saved me one descision, I do like the blue ones that I have seen, I was thinking of changing mine to yellow, I also think the caliper decals really enhance the look as well
