I had a small bit of that on my Z3 too Sean, go one then, you can't just say I've ordered the paint. That's cruel!;)

Tony.
I have a small patch in exactly the same place on both sides. Nice colour choice Sean.

Nice colour choice and pretty rare- is it an i8 only colour?
I didn't realize that the i8 was not Estoril actually but I'm sure side by side you'll spot the difference.

So now that's sorted what wheels are going to choose?!!!
Wish I had a choice of wheels at the moment mate, I am just refurbing the ones that are on the car which be be a bit of a let down, would love some 17s and some coil overs just to drop it a little, If anyone has any wheels for sale I would be interested,

I'll park this here if you don't mind:

It seems to show the curves and edges better than Estoril (which is a bit 'soft' in comparison).
Must be some funky new paint tech!

Can't wait to see the paint go on! Must be super exciting after all the slog of preparation to get to put the colour on.
Its getting exciting now buddy, just can't rush it at this stage, I've had a look at the formula and it has 2 different metallics, one is very coarse but it also has 3 pearls which you can clearly see in the pics where the colour switches tone, it also has quite a bit of green in it. I'll probably start painting on Wednesday next week.

Luckily there is plenty of choice for wheels in Z3 fitment so when the time comes you'll have choice.
Check out the for sale section, there are a few sets for sale now. So much choice you might fry your brain so soon after choosing a colour so best give it some though!

Out of interest do these new BMW colors cost a lot more than the 'regular' older cookies?

Choosing the wheels will be easy, its just choosing the colour that I paint them in will kill me :)

As for colour prices they vary as per content, to give you an idea priced up both the orange and the blue, the orange was £33 per lt and the blue was 24,

Late start this morning, got in at just past 9 and the paint was beconing, just had to go for it, painted both sills both rear and front wings, the green pops out a treat in bright light, I'm so bloody excited just like a kid with a new toy, 6 hours today, there is no photoshop or editing whatsoever in the pics, they are straight of my iphone

Looks a great colour, can't wait to see it all together now.

Mike
Thanks Mike, its been some journey to get the right colour but I am over the moon with it so far, I didn't want to come home today, infact if was up to me I would be there all night. I still have a number of dilemma's such as wheel colour, mirror colour, rear bumper cut out colour and then theres the gills

Cheers Grumpy, they have been baked at 70c and will be left to fully cure for a couple of days, they will then be flatted with 800 grit and re-laquered to get the final finish.

Even in that light you can see the pearls doing their thing. I only have my iPhone so can't really pick out the flakes. I normally am not a blue lover but this is georgeous!! Great choice, I can only imagine what an orange or green would look like!! JIM
