Helpful hint, if you are working alone, you can tape it into position from the outside and then work on the inside zipping it into place.

Great to know thanks. I did mine recently was hard work to get water proof. My Step son's Z3 screen just cracked so we will try this one next.

Just attempted to replace my original window with an aftermarket one which came with two separate zip slider thingies, my wife and I tried for a long time and eventually got the new one in and zipped up around the quarters of the way round however it was very tough to slide it and unfortunately for some reason part of the track we had already done came apart so we started to reverse the zip backwards and had to use some force and the zipper tape that was sewn into the hood failed and needs stitching back on….

Neither of us can sew so as it stands the hood is permanently down until I can find a way to stitch the zipper tape back to the hood.

I’ve watched a couple of YouTube tutorials and can confirm my zipping up experience has been completely different to those shown.

Been attempting to put my new aftermarket replacement window in for a few evenings now, best my wife and I can get is the zip about 3/4 of the way round then either some of the teeth come apart again or the zip gets stucked and one time it ripped oem stitching, I’ve used a silicone lubricant on the metal zip, watched as many YouTube videos as I could find too and they all seem to make it look incredibly easy, the zip seems to smoothly do up which is the complete opposite of my experience, one thing we’re not certain about is, attached to the hood is the original zip track and there are two separate ends, one goes to the left and one goes to the right, presumably in one big loop but I was wondering if it made any difference which way round you go? Only one end seems to clear enough to attach the new zip onto it

Are you doing it with the hood fully closed? Having it unclamped at the front might de-tension it enough.

To be honest I’ve tried moving it around a few times to see if that helps and I’m some instances it does help but sometimes the moving around seems to bust the track open

I have never had to do it for myself but have heard chaps say that it needs two of of you to do it, one inside and one outside. Hope that this helps if not I am sure that someone who has had to do it will be along soon to advise.
