Have a fabulous time, everyone!

So made it to The Cook and Barker at Newton on the Moor. Menu has far too many choices…
Good choice, one of our favorite haunts! Enjoy the lovely breakfasts, Rod recommends the Devilled kidneys with fried bread

Yep Breakfast was gr8, diner was more so-so as stated I think they need to cut down number of items as even the “specials” board had like 12 items, which meant I had forgotten 50% of them by the time I got back to mum… 🤣 Weirdest Thai Red Curry ever to be honest so I would suggest anyone thinking of going sticks to “staple” fare. That said Rubarb and Custard Tart was very good…

A697 onto A68 meant a very pleasant journey to Edinburgh. The sting in the tail is that the Hotel said park in the St James Quarter Car park which is inside a LEZ zone (no way to avoid it) so I believe its an automatic fine … gr8

Bugger, that's one to know of if staying up there.

Oh yes , we'll tax your car and tax you for coming to stay . 😪

What’s really stupid is I really don’t mind paying a fee .. but an automatic £60 fine reduced to £30 if u pay within 14 days is tantamount to daylight robbery …. No real sign giving clear instructions re LEZ zone rather visitors follow the signs to the recommended car park …
