Today I ran into another Zed user in NN! Unbelievable and this is the third Zed I know of in this small town. I managed to catch up with him and found out the car has 75k on the clock and is a 2.8. I suspect it is a 98 or 99 which he picked up in Melbourne with a two year warranty! It is bright red, sports model with heated seats.

I gave him the details of the forum and I really hope he joins up.

@GazHyde not enough! We have also spotted a Z3m, a Z4m, another blue colored Z3 [details unknown] here in Hobart as well. Unfortunately I have not caught them while parked t leave a message on their cars. Someone also has a limited edition Z3, only 8 were made and delivered to Australia, but I have not seen that on the street. I shall not rest until I get 'em all.

Hey coops, when I first read your post I thought you said you'd found "the other" Z owner in NN.=)). Keep on tracking them down mate.

Cheers, Tony.;)

Hey guys, as Cooper is from New Norfolk, shouldn't we enrol him as an honorary member of the East Anglian Crew?

No, as that would confuse Bad Boy and he would not know who to give the soap to.

Really good work Cooper. I have been trying to track down Zed owners in the south of Sydney but so far no luck!! I briefly met the owner of a red Z3 living in my area and he didn't show much interest. Are the Australian Zed owners want to keep to themselves or they are not car enthusiasts?

Checkout this BMW forum: www.ozbmw.com - there's hardly any activity.

I really don't understand why Aussies don't connect either, it baffles me. Maybe we should charge them $10 joining fee and give them the impression it is elitist or something! :) Anyway, tonight I am chasing up another one up north of me. I really want to be part of a Tasmanian Cruise. @FluxMorz and I are getting lonely!

Yeah its strange, previous to purchasing mine, I'd never even seen a Z3 in Tassie, so its strange to see them popping up about the place, but never either seeing the owners or owners showing no real interest. You'd think that based on them not being very common down here at all that the owners might show a little more interest in one another *shrugs*

It is very surprising as there are 35 Z3 cars for sale Australia wide in 'carsales.com.au' alone and I believe there are over 150 Zeds in Sydney. I will continue my efforts to track down other owners.

When I bought mine there were 45 available for purchase (not including Ms which at last check there were 6, or z4s of which there are usually around 150). That is a small, very exclusive number alright. Its a shame, imagine how cool a get together summer drive along some of the Country's great coastal highways would be with a group of 10 or more Zeds.

I too would like to join a group of Zeds for a long drive along the coast. I am beginning to feel lonely on the Aussie mainland. I am currently corresponding with a Zed owner in Queensland who also has a wrecked Z3 from which he is selling spares. I have written to him about the forum hoping that he would join.
