Announcement Performance tweaks today

Hi y'all,

I've been doing some tinkering today and configured the site to run through a service called CloudFlare which should visibly improve site performance - particularly mobiles. There are lots of technical things that it does which I won't bore you with. We will likely move to their paid service for $20 a month which provides additional protection for the site, and more options to improve the speed of the even more!

Looking for some feedback on whether you feel things are quicker, and also if there are any issues you notice. This may be a little more obvious to oversees visitors, as it's designed to improve their access as well (shorter routes to access the site).

As I say, any issues let me know.

I have been on the website most of the afternoon. Just gone to click on a page and now says the site can not provide a secure connection. This is through both Chrome and I. Yet I can connect through my phone. Any ideas. I have not changed any settings at all.

Thanks for the feedback, part of the reason for running this was to improve things overseas as well as here in the U.K. It's a long way for everything to travel around the world, and this system lets it cut a few corners for want of an easier way to say it.

I'll give it a week and turn the volume up a bit more, may not be as big a jump but you never know!

As I live in what they call a dead area anything to speed things up is more than welcome by me. So far everything appears to be faster and working, so well done Gary! Hopefully those in the rest of the world will see the same results and be as appreciative!! JIM

I've been logged off lots of times tonight too. Tried different browsers too. I first noticed when I posted on a conversation, then when I went to a different conversation I had to log back in again. Even just browsing new posts it does it. I'm on a tablet now, PC earlier.
