Hi. My name is Dave and my teen years were full of British sportscar enthusiasm. My first was a brand new 1960 Bugeye Sprite at 19y.o. then later a new 1962 Austin-Cooper. I attended many SCCA races at Thompson and Limerock, CT. Then marriage and 4 sons postponed any further exotica. I rediscovered my enthusiasm in 2020 buying a 2001-professionally-restored1968 box Sprite with 43K original miles. Then my wife and I had issues getting in and out of the Sprite after 3 summers of terrorizing the VT countryside. I saw and ad for an immaculate Bright Red 2000 Z3 2.3 Roadster with 42k original miles and brought it home in 2023. The rear window needed replacing as did the 15 2010 Michelins (age,not wear); all fluids were also changed. Of course the difference was remarkably comfy and powerful. I am the 3rd steward of this car; the 2 previous stewards were summer drivers also. The second steward's wife dubbed the car "Roxanne" (The Police hit of1979), using it as a summer car also. Her name stayed with me. Our VT driving season is roughly mid-April to mid-October. I also am a member of the Bimmer Z3 Forum. I look forward to info sharing and just hanging out.
The only problem was experienced in late 2023 when Roxanne developed a parasitic drain, pegging the meter at 500ma. After doing the analytics, the radio was drawing the lion's share. The instrument cluster drawing 150ma. Not wanting to dismantle the dash I pulled the radio fuse as I don't use it anyway, left the inst. cluster fuse in and installed a knife switch on the battery ground. When parked for more than a couple hours the switch is opened.
