Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. A buddy and I picked up a '96 Z3 for road racing. We've got it running again, stripped it down, and now we're working on installing the necessary safety equipment. It's been a lot of fun so far, and I'm really coming to love this little guy.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have lot's of questions in the future so thanks in advance!

Scott

Gidday Scott..

We're building this car for 24 hours of LeMons at first. There are some other low cost racing series we'll get into as well. For LeMons you have a $500 limit that you can spend on the suspension and drivetrain. This car wasn't running when we got it and had some questionable repairs done to it so we got it cheap. It was a bit of fate I guess.

We kind of lucked out that we got it running pretty easily. It has good compression. The suspension is shot, but it'll do for LeMons. Looking forward to addressing that in the future though.

Hi and :welcome: to the forum from me too in Stafford, England.

Lol, yeah maybe! I figure we've got about a 50/50 shot that the engine just blows up before the end. It's got 265,000 miles on it, and I don't think it was cared for very well.
