2001 z3 2,2

What’s more cost efficient, replacing the unit or getting it repaired?

Any recommendations to source them please?

If it's an e85 Z4 I have recently had mine replaced and relocated into the boot. They are prone for "drowning" in water.
It is a pig of a job to do but once done it can't happen again.
I paid about £130 for the new pump and went down to the zedshed in Basingstoke to get it fitted. It took myself and @GazHyde hours to get the old one out but it was all good fun!.
 
I've tried to attach some pictures but they won't upload. @GazHyde ? 🤷
 
Assume its for a Z3 as the OP has posted in the Z3 section.
 
Z3 i would just get a replacement pump on the whole the pumps are fairly reliable easy to swap out in behind left side carpet couple of bolts, couple of wiring connectors and 2 pipe fittings easy enough to do.

Thank you that’s what I’m after doing but I wanted to know if there’s a specific place people on here would recommend for one?

One of our breakers may have one
( @spurs fan in a coupe @Andyboy )
but they usually sell the kit as a whole.
Have you checked the oil level, micro switch, relays, brake light and made sure it's not in manual mode?

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I can say I have tried all of those options with the assistance of AI and we concluded the only remaining thing would be the motor.
Do you take a punt on a cheap 2nd hand one which also break down or get a fully restored one with a warranty. Ideally be great if someone on here had one available that can vouch it’s good and proper etc..
maybe a next year job now as I can’t see many more days left that are as nice as today is.
