I am looking for the Steering Lock shaft, is the shaft that connects the key cylinder to the ignition switch through the steering lock mechanism; parts 3 & 5 In this diagram:

I'll be taking the steering rack off on Sunday so will investigate further then.

Update for those PMs

I ran out of time before getting everything off.

Dash top - the whole dash seems to have to come out, will crack on over the week.





Steering lock parts

No obvious way of getting the components apart, I'll have to investigate further, does the column look like this?

I would like the dash cover over the instrument panel if available. I will double check on the part number to make sure it will fit my 2001 2.2i.

Oh, and please see if you can get it off without taking the dash out - I have been advised that the dash must be removed first but since you are in great situation to try.... Cheers.

Thanks. I replied to the pm before seing these photos which answers one of my questions.
 
I know he cant becuase i keep pinching his softtops :P

On another note, did you pull out the fuel tank on that last shell @spurs fan in a coupe ?
 
@Lee is right, I don't have any roofs or rear screens at the moment.

I've had to wait for my next project due to a log book issue.

Lee I'll drop the tank out of the Atlanta blue one before I scrap the shell, you sure the subframe doesn't have to come out first?
 
Yeah it does, and its a job you cant do on your own. Might have to be somthing i come down and do.
