Billz, I think James has removed the photo banner. Perhaps it was this causing the slow performance on the main page?! Haven't managed to speak to him for a day, but I'm sure he will confirm it!

James is definitely tinkering with the front end.
Quite a few people have commented on slow site response times and he is trying to improve things.
If you want to see more pictures of your car, why not post some (more) in the gallery section? :o3
 
Board is working on Speed and it is under a thread called Speed. not sure if they should be combined and the discussion has moved to front page more than speed. My fault I think sorry! :ymblushing:

These are two related issues but I see no need at this stage to combine them.
We want comments on the front page which should be posted in this thread, and comments on speed tests which belong HERE
 
Have to agree now I've seen HP without pics it's lost it's impact and instant theme recognition.

Are there any other options with size and placement of pics?

Is it worth a few screenshots of options for a poll if you can have pics different to
help anyone with speed issues?
 
Here's a thought... Maybe not do-able??
Have a map of the UK with hyperlinked pins to events.
Hover over pin for date and location, click pin to event thread.
Result....quick slick overview of everything.
Certain coloured pin for event not yet happened another colour for link to thread
for after event pics and follow up.

Tell me to shut up if I'm getting carried away :D

Mutter mutter, coloured pins, links, different colours, interaction.
Next you will be wanting a full blown GIS !
 
Anything is possible with time and money :)

Let's keep it to what is freely available at the moment and then we can go from there with new toys.

I actually really like the new layout. Having seperate slides for each model Z gives the impression the website is for all. I always thought zroadster.net was z3/z1 orientated. It would be nice if we caught an audience for all over here :)
 
I really like the new homepage - well done! As shanty says, it makes the site appeal to all zed owners whichever model they own. Just need to lure some z8 owners onto here now....
