About 1 minute into this video is an actor named Dick Shawn whom I loved dearly as he played several wacky roles in the movies. I always wanted to meet him. One day, in the casino, I was on a dead craps game near our side exit. Two men came walking up to the game and one of them started to play and he was shooting the dice for just a few minutes. He soon sevened-out and walked away going out thee side exit. The supervisor asked me if I knew him and I said no. He told me it was Dick Shawn and I was shocked. His appearance had changed over the years and I didn't realize it was him. I would have loved to shake his hand and say hello but I missed my chance.. Frankie

I would think that you have dealt the cards to a lot of famous people Frankie but you've been too busy to realise who they were?;) It must be cool to be able to put on your CV - Dealer!

Hugh, I worked with a guy 18 years ago who was born with a deformed left arm, only just above his elbow. Around this time he decided to join a local band as a drummer. He struggled to make the kit work for him until he went to Scunthorpe to a music shop and the man there said "are you left handed", now Rob thought he was taking the p*** as he didn't have a left hand anyway, until the man said try leading with your left foot. Lo and behold the problem was solved and he was on the road to playing with the band!

I think I told this story once before on the forum but perhaps it was before you joined. I was supervising, sitting box, on a dice game and a black guy came up to the table. I was sure that I recognized him but couldn't place him. At that time, we were using the big dice tables where you could squeeze in 12 players on each side of the stickman. We had a double box (supervisor). For several years I had worked road construction in the streets of Philadelphia. We had several work crews on the streets and sometimes the crew I was on, I was the only white guy so I know a lot of black guys. I really thought this guy was on one of our crews so I asked him if he had ever worked for Eastern Asphalt. The other boxman sitting next to me started kicking me under the table and was saying under his breath "shut up, shut up". As it turned out, he was an actor named John Amos

Naturally, I felt like an as***le and just said sorry, but he was a real nice guy and just laughed a little. I once ran into Ann Margrate while walking out the employee exit. She had slipped out that door to walk her little dog and was coming back in as I was walking out. Once I passed Tony Bennett up on the 6th floor of Trump Plaza when I was working there. He had 2 knockout babes one on each arm,and I stood aside to let them by as it was a fairly narrow hallway leading to the employee cafeteria. They all like to take the back of the house paths to keep away from the public. I once left work near the boardwalk exit and had to walk along the side of our building towards Pacific Avenue to get to the parking lot. On the other side of this wall were banquet rooms and about half way down the block, one of the doors was open onto the sidewalk but no one was going in or out..I was walking quickly and walked around the open door that partially blocked the sidewalk but as I did this a man came out the doorway very quickly and we collided. As I was much larger than he, I nearly knocked him over and helped him regain his balance. He laughed and said "take it EASY big guy". To my surprise, it was Sammy Davis Jr. There are other stories but I'm probably boring you now. Frankie
