Ok - I'm going to throw this out there an ask for feedback.... I am awaiting replies from a few hotels but I wanted to run this by you and guage response.

Friday - arrive at hotel - Friday night attend Medieval Banquet with all the trimmings disco following - fancy dress optional but encouraged :D now who could be the court jester

Saturday - Day to do as you please - Saturday night - traditional Christmas meal with disco afterwards.

The Twist

The hotel that hosts the evening functions is top dollar but within 1½ miles is a Premier Inn with a Brewers Fayre attached (where you go for breakfast) and possibly a drink or two :D.

I'm awating prices for the whole thing to be at the one hotel and my experiences are that good discounts can be had but as an alternative I reckon for the price of 1 night B & B at the hotel you could have B & B at PI and cost of that evenings function with transport arranged so we can all have a drink or 2 ;).

Let me know your thoughts, am I on the right lines for what you guys would enjoy ?? personally, I've stayed at a few PI's recently and they've all been great....

If it's good enough for Lenny Henry and you, Snoops, it's good enough for us! ^:)^ s;)

Judging by the temperature today, Christmas is not that far away! We have truthfully got the log burner going tonight!!! 8-|

Sounds good fun, but not sure that we will able to fit in the Zed afterwards!! :D Two guesses who the jester could be? The initials B & G spring to mind readily. :D Now where can I hire a suit of armour!! Can I come dressed all in black, so that I can be a 'night' :))

err im a maybe up to yet.. :-\

It's okay Wayne I'm just throwing things out there at the moment... I think we're a bit off asking people to make a committment... :)

:-bd ANOTHER UPDATE - NEED SOME FEEDBACK FROM ALL INTERESTED PARTIES THEN DEPENDING ON THE FEEDBACK WE WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO THINK ABOUT MAKING A COMMITMENT TO GET THE BEST PRICES AND GUARANTEE OUR BOOKING

I have done some searching and have whittled it down to what looks like could be a good option.

Arrive Friday night – everyone arriving at various times (due to commitments) meet, greet, dine and drink at the on-site pub/restaurant (Taybarns) at the Premier Inn

Saturday – activities to be arranged – cruises, shopping, chilling out.

Saturday Night at Coombe Abbey which is 4 miles away so a number of shared taxis will get us there and back without breaking the bank.

Where we have a choice of a traditional meal - but it appears to be Chicken (not turkey) :-o or Medieval banquet with fancy dress encouraged. I thought this might be fun and something different and although I originally said both – I think it might work out quite expensive. Party night is £39 per person and Banquet is £49 per person.

Premier Inn does group bookings but do not price match the price available at the moment and are offering a guaranteed price of £59 per night per double room. As you can see from screenshot below – booking now you can get 2 nights for £58 BUT they advised me that this price may increase as bookings start coming in through the site so the earlier you book the better the price but they do have a lot of rooms at his “branch” so with any luck we’ll all get a good price.

Coombe Abbey can offer us a Party night meal or Banquet on the 1st or 8th of December (Saturdays) – you can see the details in the brochure attached.

So – let me know guys and gals....need some feedback from those interested... thanks :D

I am up for either date, love the idea of everything, to choose one I would go banquet and fancy dress for the fun of it. But happy with all your ideas :cool steer) Thinking about it I suppose that the earlier date would suit me as I think I might jump a plane and go somewhere for winter. who know maybe if I like the sound of what I hear from Board Brazil might be a good idea! no plans yet but flights get dearer closer to xmas.

I know the dates are wrong but the murder mystery look great! I did one for 14 once went brilliant. Never been to a professional one! Sorry meant to say it all looks great was not pushing anything I just like all the options.

Coventry area for me is a little over 200 miles so easily do-able compared to some I have already done =)) :martini :beer :present :ymparty:
