F1 Zorg & Badger GP Fantasy Grand Prix 2017

Daniil Kvyat is back for this race, but why would they keep him on board when they clearly have major doubts about the Russian, who was dropped from Toro Rosso after Singapore? Kvyat would have to be an idiot not to sense the way the wind is blowing, and he is certainly not that.

“I think I deserve to have clarifications,” he said, “and we will get them together, one from another. I just do my job, I have a contract with Red Bull for further two years, I think. As far as I have this contract, I have to do as well as I can, and then if there are any other opportunities, things, we discuss it together and decide what is the best thing to move forward."

Mike Heal‏: Kvyat still can prove a point. The Russian is talented, wouldn't have got that Red Bull seat.
But do feel it's last chance saloon.

Haas problems
Haas are on home tarmac, being the only American team in Formula 1. Kevin Magnussen was 11th fastest and Romain Grosjean was 15th quickest early on today and it has not started too well for Haas in session two.

Magnussen spins on one lap and then gets in the way of team-mate Grosjean a lap later.

Fernando Alonso is hoping to have a better time than this afternoon when he was the only man to not set a time because of a hydraulic leak.

Vettel in the gravel
In the penultimate corner of the track, Sebastian Vettel goes off and into the gravel. He loses it on the corner and spins sideways into the gravel. Any damage to the car? Luckily for the German, he can get the car out of there and back into the pits.

He is the only driver to not set a time in the opening 20 minutes of session two.

Ricciardo regains the lead
It has been a good session so far for the two Red Bulls. Verstappen and Ricciardo have been swapping the lead, and now it is the Australian who is the quickest again. The Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas are third and fifth, with Kimi Raikkonen the man in the middle.

'One sexy lap'
Lewis Hamilton leads with the fastest ever lap of the Circuit of the Americas. Fair to say it has gone down well with Mercedes.

Ferrari team know how to form a human shield whenever Vettel's car has an issue! Just to keep off the cameras!
Ferrari are displaying all the signs of a team that is deeply ashamed of their performance. It is sad that they are not open.

Hamilton fastest in second practice.
He was fastest in session one, and Lewis Hamilton is also the fastest in session two. What a day for him.

Nice to see Alonso up in 7th. too and without any engine penalties he might just have a decent weekend for once.

s***, too late:thumbsup: =))=))

Yeah, that was funny......:)

Sean Gelael, who is in the Toro Rosso car with Daniil Kvyat sitting this session out, has also found the conditions tricky as he spins and ends up on the grass.

"Do not go on the red paint" he is told, rather unhelpfully after doing just that.

Yep, I'd read that. One of things I don't really like on these "modern" F1 tracks Mike. There are no concequences for going of line anymore, no gravel traps even. Some of the colours are awful too.:(
