Last year, it was the unusual sight of a fan going for a stroll along the track and today a giant lizard decided to get a close up look at the action, spooking Max Verstappen.

This, by the way, was the lizard that ambled across the track in final practice. Not quite Godzilla but still blooming massive.

That safety car caught many by surprise with how quickly it went in. There didn't appear to be any on screen notice and it also caught a marshal unaware as the camera cut to a chap legging it off the track just as Nico Rosberg came round. He got off just in time, but that was close!

The stewards don't like the look of some damage on Carlos Sainz's car that was caused by that early collision with Nico Hulkenberg. He is shown the black and orange flag, meaning he has to pit to get it sorted.

Daniel Ricciardo is 4.5 seconds behind Nico Rosberg and the Red Bull is clearly getting the Mercedes driver all hot and bothered.

His race engineer starts to inform Rosberg of the current gap, but the German snaps: "Stop telling me that!"
