We had a free day today and met up with @Davester2.2sport my self and @colb in attendance at @colb Zedshed headquarters..

the brief plan was to change Daves gearbox oil and Diff oil and a quick wipe over with an oily rag and hopefully be done to go for a run....

Before we did the diff and gearbox @colb got the laptop out and inpa and we had a little nose about to see what was the general state of Daves car. we found a few ECU errrors and made note of them, and got on with the diff and gearbox oils, Dave also noted an engine management light on, so after the oil changes, myself and @colb took Daves car out for a quiet drive !!! with me sat monitoring sensors on the torque app nothing really to note and as it was the first time using torque app on a six cylinder i had a few sensors not setup properly.

anyway we decided to whip out one of Daves spark plugs and noted that this was pretty bad so we went for a run over to cwmbran to pick up a set of plugs and as it was a nice day thought we may as well take the opportunity to take the little zeds out !!!! to stretch their legs....

plugs picked up and installed and a further test drive by Dave and some more fisihng about seems like we got some lean codes coming up, and eml was back on....

needs some more investigation on this...

also noted by Colin was the windscreen washer bottle was a bit loose this was fixed with some self tappers in to the bulkhead a few spot welds were loose...

all done and another day out at zedshed south wales

I would have a good look at the rubber intake boot as they are know to perish, this would let in unmetered air.

Hi all.. I believe only the bottom part was changed.. would it be a good idea to change top part as well. .
Picture of what I had fitted below and also a picture of the other part i may need to get ? The v shape one is the one that's been fitted

Hi Lee. . Was it correct in thinking that those are the 2 parts of the air intake hose

Yes mate thats them, Left one in your image connects to the Throttle body and idle control valve the right one to the maf and manfiold feed.

Hi Lee. . Thanks mate .. will buy the right image one then as the left one has already been fitted..
Thanks again bud

The left part is the more common place to split. Lots of other places to check as well.

Under the plastic cover on top of the inlet manifold theres a line that runs the length of the manifold.
Check the CCV lines themselves part of the above
As said above the plugs on the rear of the manifold
Follow the barbed line that connects to the boot back down under the manifold.
If you have the Air pump next to the exhaust manifold a line runs round behind the engine.

If you feel up to it remove the idle valve and throttle body these are also just bolt on items, you can also get a good look under the manifold.

Lee, can you post the picture of the underside of the manifold so I can see where the hose from the sucking jet pump connects, hoping removing the throttle body and idle control valve will give enough room to get at the hose connection under there as we will be fitting a new sucking jet pump and its hoses after a smoke test revealed leaking from it. I have visions of having to lift the manifold off to get at it as it has a crimped clip holding it on.
