I thought I would get one of tomorrow's jobs out of the way today. I got my car on the lift and changed the oil and filter.

I left it dripping while I had my lunch.
Soon had it back on it's wheels after.

I then set about getting ready for the morning.

Pumped the pit out and brushed the remaining water into the pump sink, same in the morning and mop the rest out.

Not surprised Dave, tbh when I took the big alloy tray inside the old fluid was really dark so I’m sure it was well ready mate.

While the car is up in the air with the wheels off You screw it into a wheel nut hole and you can hang your hat on it.

It’s an 8mm. bolt if that helps.

Is the thread actually screwed in to something? Or do you just use the hook to hook over that catch thing?

It's for changing the door striker plate and cable on a Z3. Remove bottom screw and screw this in the threaded hole. Remove top screw and slide the striker away from the door frame. Pull on long bolt to pull threaded plate up to the inside of the door frame and put a 8 x 13 bolt and flat washer in the top threaded hole and tighten. Then you can remove the long screw and let the striker hang whilst you get the cable out through the panel.

You make it sound so easy. That took a, good 30 mins and my fingers are stilll sore. Great day at the Shed and good for a catch up

Couldnt ask for a better day weather wise, jjust hpe you all returned home safe and well.

I had an unmarked 5 series flashing its blues as i left Torksey but just wanted to get by (Probably late for their McDonalds)

There were a further 3 marked cars with blues and twos when I approached Gainsborough then another unmarked with blues heading into Gainsborough as I headed out something must of gone off

I emptied the oil drainers Into a spare drum again this afternoon. First is pull the drain tube out of the drainer and sit it in the waste bin.

Then fit the white cap to block the side outlet.

Then sit it upright and remove the black cap and pour out the contents into the waste tub.

Refit the black cap,

Sit the drainer on it's wheels and remove the white cap and store it back behind the strapping.

and refit the drainer tube into the side outlet.

Spare tub lives outside till its full enough to take to the tip.

Use a Pela pump, few pumps, put kettle on, have a cuppa, job done. It even has a spout to pour the used oil down the road drain
