I was planning a day for next Saturday (15th) but as we're only 1 week away from going over the pond again and unforseen issues have come up sadly I'm going to have to cancel this one. I will sort a day soon after we get back.

Tony.

A Shed day on November 11th. Saturday. Auto trans. oil and filter on a Z3. Anything else?

Is Graham using some sort of sander to polish with?
My car has several things need sorting Tony. I’m struggling to find a local garage that will fix the shock absorbers because they are telling me they don’t use supplied parts despite the parts being brand new. There’s the striker plate which I was going to do this weekend but I have a terrible cold so that’s on my To Do list and I’m sure a full service wouldn’t hurt…oh and the red airbag light is on the dash after I was looking under the seats…think I may have dislodged a cable and been too under the weather to check. I’ve a mechanic to visit when I’ve shaken off this cold and my fingers are crossed that he’ll be helpful.

I would hope that if a few people come over we could get those front struts fitted Dawn. Maybe the door striker too. I can’t see why people are being picky about fitting new parts that you’ve supplied?

Tony.

ps. Yes, that is my orbital polisher he is using.

You’d think new parts supplied wouldn’t be an issue, wouldn’t you? But I’m being refused with garages saying they won’t fit supplied parts. Perhaps they can’t then guarantee the work? I’ve no idea but it’s very frustrating. And thanks Tony. Can we tempt Dave @Mint to pop across too? 😀 It will be great to see everyone after an age. I am, of course, optimistic that I’ll have shaken this cold and chest infection in the next day or two so should be firing in all six cylinders be the 11th.
The shine on Graham’s vehicle is impressive Tony. I suppose you have to watch how much pressure is applied?

The pressure applied can burn the paint but also the coarseness of the compound and keeping it slightly damp helps.

Maybe, not sure yet. Nothing to do on my Zed but would be good to come over for a catch up.
