Some maintenance these last few days. Since the compressor has gone the first job was to plug the holes where the pipe and power cables came through. I found an aerosol cap and ltr milk bottle cap were ideal and sealed them with some silicone I had knocking about.
Now the portable compressor is my only source of air I decided to connect it to the outlet fixed to the bench.
Just needed to add an elbow to the outlet.
Having removed the old compressor I decided to use the spur to feed another 3 sockets to feed the portable compressor and USB charger and my Bosch Ixo driver.
Another double socket on order to replace a single one on the ring main.
Another little job as it's getting cooler was to put away my hose reel and fit the tap frost protection which Gary made for me (during the winter I use a plain hose which can easily be drained when I've finished with it).
Anyway I had noticed recently that the recoil on the hose reel was getting tired so I had a look on YouTube and found how to re tension the recoil spring. However the Hozelock manual said it was factory set. Hmmm. If you pull the hose all the way out and lock it off, place a 19mm ring spanner on the hex and hold it's position then remove the 2 tamper proof Torx screws you can adjust the tension after all.
I applied 2 full turns (clockwise) then re fitted the 2 screws. When released the hose fully recoiled into the housing like it did when it was new.
