Finally got around to fixing something at the Shed which wasn't actually broken, but did need updating. The 5 single tube fluorescent lights, which I bought 2nd. hand 36 years ago with the garage have been replaced with 5ft. Dual LED strips today. WOW, what a difference !

WOW! So it was worth the early start! Can’t wait to “see” the Shed in person...whenever that happens to be*
*sigh

The new style are a massive improvement over the old floro tubes and blinky blink blink when you switch them on .
Nice workshop upgrade.

Great addition Tony, we'll be able to find that 10mm socket now=))=))

Not a chance Dave, once lost they're gone for ever.=))=)) But, if we painted the floor with refective paint we wouldn't need hand lights to work under the cars:thumbsup:

Tony.

Did you replace the whole unit? When I did my parents recently I just did the bulb and bypassed the starter gubbins. It’s sold like that btw. I didn’t hot wire it :)

No Rob, 5 all new units. I think the old ones have done their fair share TBH.

Tony.

ps. But I put them on the local FB Marketplace for £25;)

Where did you get these from mate? I have some old ones that will be going in the garage for the time being until I can afford some more econimical replacements. The ones I have are big things with 4 tubes in each unit, they will give off a lot of light, have motion sensors which is handy and are dimmable but they won't be as cheap to run as LED's.

Not sure where Dave got them from mate but they are JCC Skypack QR Range (£250 for 5) all inc. I'll check the cartons tomorrow for any more info Dave.

Tony.

You'll feel better, maybe, tomorrow Paul.

I got mine from screwfix, they have a decent selection to choose from.
