That's more interesting. First car I bought was a mk1 2 door escort 1300gt in purple velvet metallic. As with most cars of the 70's you had to spend a week or two welding the things up!!

Funny how 'two a penny' rust buckets became sought after and valuable, even mk3 cortina repmobiles. I bought a mk1 escort van back from Ayr a few years ago for a neighbour, 70% chicken wire and filler. They spent 20 grand having it restored and alledgedly is valued at £30k, it is mint now though.
