Zedless ! No more !

Glad you are both OK. That sounds like it could have been a lot worse.
I hope the zed is fixable.
Have a great holiday..

That's not good Ken. At least you can deal with proper speaking folk instead of the French which i have had to deal with.
Hope the zed is repairable

Thanks for all the good wishes folks. Just back after a few days change of scenery and we were lucky with the weather every day. Took a more calm look at the damage when I got back and actually I think it may just be the wing that is wrecked. What at first glance appeared to be the door pillar or bulkhead looking dented behind the wing, seems to look like the inner part of the wing which has been bent and exposed by the wing folding inwards.

Things do sometimes look a little better at the 2nd. inspection Ken. Hope it's no so bad after all mate.

Tony.

Look on the bright side Ken you may get a good deal on having the bonnet painted?

I had thought about that straightaway Paul. ;) Great minds think alike. =))Looking at it today I think it's just the wing, but until that is removed you never know what lurks beneath. Just hope it gets sorted soon.

Well it's just gone into 'hospital' round the corner from me. Nice chap had a quick look and agrees it may just be the wing ,but until they remove it he can't be 100% sure. Never the less, he says he won't scrap it.:)

That probably looks worse than it actually is Ken. Hope so anyway mate.

Tony.

Looks repairable and fingers crossed it is.

The thing that is bugging me is that according to folks in the insurance/accident repair business that I know, where a vehicle (especially a lorry) is in a collision when 'changing lane' the insurance do a 50/50 claim. In which case I would presumably lose my no claims and perfect record. I was stationary affecting no one and the lorry drove into me because he didn't look. I was not in any way at fault, not even at the roundabout. So if they do a knock for knock I'll totally be pee'd to put it mildly !!

Ken, I am an Insurance Loss Adjuster, although I deal with Property and Engineering claims.

If that does happen, you are entitled to challenge - it doesnt have to be accepted blindly, its their agreement, not yours.

And if push comes to shove, there are two magic phrases (but use sparingly):

1. I dont think I am being treated fairly.
2. I wish to complain.

Will that mean you win ? I dont know. But if you were stationary . . . (dont loose your dashcam footage).

Good luck !

And more importantly hope Zed is repairable . . .

I have dealt with loss adjusters many times in work before i retired and recently when i had a claim on my house policy
I have always found them to be very straight and honest in dealings and would always recommend using them
In no case have been a direct employee of the insurers

I’ve only had one experience of working with Loss Adjusters and it was an awful experience. The company was called McLarens from Lincoln. They were definitely not impartial.

Tony.

Dont know them. As i understood the situation is they are an under obligation to recommend payment to the claimant in accordance with the Contract (policy) with the client. I have been with a loss assessor (after we blew up a substation) when the first claimant was “trying it on “ and he offered they a small fraction of the claim —— next stop he explained To the claimant how they were claiming about 20% of their entitlement. Just my experience of them.
