Zedless...just for a while

Big today tomorrow...off to the far 'West Country' (Basingstoke!) to pick up the Z.
A bit of a trip for me and my eldest son (now 6).
3 trains from Kent to Basingstoke (3,5hrs)

Then 2hrs drive back in the M3, M25,M20 where at junction 8 we branch finally leave the motorways for the last 30mies home on some beautiful Kentish A roads.

Not sure if such a trip warrants a new thread with pics ala Frankie and Hugh as somehow a trip crossing the Home Counties just is not as exciting to look as when done in the US.

Nevertheless with a 6yr old in tow it's a still a big adventure for us!
Not all of us live in the UK Dino!! JIM

We'd all luv to see your pictures of your day :)
Some of us who live in the UK haven't been to that part of the country :)
So come on @Dino D post your pictures ;)
Will make a good thread :)

Enjoy your day tomorrow @Dino D, both of you will have wonderful memories of the day you went to pick up your zed :)

^ very kind of you sir!

Will take pics and post them up.

We've had a couple of road trips in it, first was when he was 3yrs. Our other 2 kids have also been in it since babies.
Our youngest calls it 'broom broom'!

I almost always have a child seat it in it actually!

I'll need to get a 4 seat open top fun car in the next year or two so they can all have ride together but I think the Z will always stay in the family for when they older...

Enjoy your day ;)
Have fun :)
Looking forward to seeing the photographs of your journey ;)

Junc 8 M20. Are you Ashford way then? I spend a fair few days that way most weeks.

Yes pretty early for mowing, I get the prize for first one on the street this year!!

Can hear the rest of them going at now up and down the road...

We got the BBQ going now!
I gave our gravel a good washing through with hose pipe does that count (not got a mower)?

We are Canterbury way but I branch off at J8 (Leeds castle) lovely road from there to Canterbury.

You usually in your truck or your Z?

My truck. I regularly go to Aylesford and Ashford off j8. Used to go to paddock wood a lot but since changing firm I no longer go there. THE WIFE and I have discussed moving to Kent for the ease of getting to the continent, but decided that if we did move we would make the leap and go straight there and cut out Kent altogether. The long term plan is to live in France but not until we've cleared the mortgage off. :(

Move to Kent first and take it from there, best of both worlds here!
In the summer Canterbury is like France with all the cars and people over for the weekend. We have a few French owned pubs too.

And so we begin, first train at out the little village station. Still has a manned crossing!

Window seat of course, and for his favorite road trip soft toy too!

Lovely photographs ;)
It's lovely to have the memories of your adventures going to get your Z ;)
Don't forget the cuddly toy :)
As you might have tears tonight :)
Our son lost his cuddly toy once .......... :(
And he couldn't sleep :)

I love Kent always have. Problem is we couldn't afford an equivalent house down there. Need an extra 100k just to get the same sort of property. And it's like THE WIFE says, if your gonna move you want to improve not step backwards. Unfortunately lorry driving doesn't pay well so 100k would be very hard to come by and I'm trying to get mortgage free so i wouldn't borrow to move.

That stuffed dog has been to Greece and back!

Dave I now what you mean re property prices but if you don't need to be near schools you can get much better value for money.
Don't forget the sun, we have more of it here too and lots of great coastline.

Love a road trip!good luck :)
I never noticed!!!
I want to do a trip across US in a Corvette (more realistically in V8 Winnebago so the family can join enjoy too).
Them the kids are older then me and the Mrs can do the corvette trip.
M's will probably be over a 100k by then!!
