Is it me or are we on the cusp of a new zed revolution ?

They have always had a good strong following we all know but looking on various auction sites they do seem to be getting snapped up rather quickly

Are they becoming even more desirable

Just my observations

They are becomming a lot more purchaseable. Any one who wants a 2 seater now can either go for run of the mill stuff like mx5 mgf or get a couple of years older z3 with around same mileage. I know what i would go for

That makes me more tempted to sell my second car and replace it with another Z3 :)

Exactly this. When I bought my basic spec '99 2.0 5 years ago, it was one of a few facelift models (personal preference) I could actually afford. My 2001 2.2i Sport only cost me £3.5k last year.

Looking on Autotrader, eBay etc £5k gets you a lot of car now. Even the first generation Z4 can be bought for about £3.5k!

Also my old Z3 is on sale on this forum @£4000. Ish, just checked mi records and I traded it to Bmw dealership march 2011, and got £4400, good that £100. Per year Depreciation .
Or I let it go too cheap,

On the + side for me, had the Z4 now 4yrs come march, put 40, 000 fun miles ont it, cost me ,
£8, 800, as an approved used , worth today £4800,-£5200,, so £1000, a year, an tbh for all the fun , and good times an nice people we've met well worth it

So Moz, reading above, the value of a 4 drops dramatically compared to a 3?
