Unfortunately I saw a Topaz blue facelift Z3 today on the M1 near Chesterfield being doused by the fire brigade. It was totalled. Looked like an engine bay fire. Can't tell you anymore as I was travelling a motorway speed in the opposite direction. Hoping it's know on off ere.

Someone's going to be gutted. What a shame to have lost their Zed like that.

Yep not good but assuming they were insured it can be replaced.

I was just about to say the same thing @Low Rider. I had a brand new 72 VW beetle and my fiancé now my wife used it to go to work one morning. She called me in tears about 8am to tell me she'd backed into a concrete pole and wrecked my rear fender. I asked if anyone was hurt and she answered no so I told her it was just a fender and could be replaced but she couldn't! She decided then that I'd ask her to marry me!! lol. JIM

I have a small fire extinguisher in mine, the car would still get written off but I might be able to save most of the good bits for when I buy it back :D

Poor Z :p
Hopefully no one was hurt ;)

Omg that's awful
I hope the driver is ok
@Mnbrennan can I change my Xmas list to a fire extinguisher please :D

Sad news.
Beside the fire extinguisher I carry a wrench adequate to disconnect the negative terminal and a pair of gloves. But in case of a short you have an extremely short reaction time before you put your life in burns risc. Playing with fire is tricky, better step back and save your life.
