Bought some MV2 18" wheels on ebay for 120 quid delivered. Seemed like a bargain until I realized they will cost 300 quid to refurbish and 2 of the tyres were as bald as a baboons arse :D

So yeh that 300 quid is now 400 quid with 2 more budget tyres.

I've gone 'Shadow Chrome', I don't really know what it is but the guy at the wheel place seemed to think it would look good. Oh yeh and it was £10 more per wheel, which he mentions after I agree  He reckons it will look good on a black car but I'm yet to be convinced.. I guess we will see in a couple of days.

Not good news on the car internals front. I figured it was cheap for a reason and now I know why. Seems to have an EML light on the dash, I guess the last guy cleared it and forgot to mention it! Not a massive suprise but annoying.

I got a nice code reader so here's the codes. Anyone have an idea?

I've cleared the codes as someone says BMW's show up some weird ones when the battery goes flat.

Car's running fine so maybe that was it?

You always have to clear any historic codes then see which, if any, return.

Loving owning this car so far... Quick trips to the shops on a sunny day turn into hour long drives just for fun!

Saying that I had a little time to play around with the car on the driveway today.

Aux Cable Retrofit
I installed an AUX cable into the back of the stereo.

The install was pretty simple, just use a flat head screwdriver to remove the 2 clips at the top of the air vents and pull out. Then unscrew the BMW stereo screws at the front and pull out the unit. Simply fit the the black plug from the new cable into the CD changer socket and thread through to the ashtray. My ashtray already had a hole for the AUX cable so I just poked it out there.

Amazon Alexa Auto
Next on the list was installing the Amazon Alexa Auto unit. Very simple once the AUX cable is in. Just plug in the AUX and the cigarette lighter adapter for the USB power. Whack the Alexa unit into the air vents and its up and running! Now I don't need a DAB radio and can listen to Kisstory radio all day long :)

I havent had a good chance to play with it yet, but will update when I do.

Seat refurbishment
My seats were pretty warn out with lots of wear and tear so I purchased this product to do them up.

It seems to work well but needs to be done on the whole seat to make a uniform finish so will be doing some more tomorrow. I'll probably try painting it on tomorrow as it took ages with a spatula and the finish wasn't perfect.

Aux. cable was soon on my list when I got mine. I run a Bluetooth transmitter to play a radio app of a station from Texas from my phone.

Dropped off the car today at RBM in Hampshire with a guy called ross, thanks for the recommendation @Lee.

The car will be raised, have a full service, new central brake light, wheel spacers, stance coilovers and droplinks. Also putting on the new alloy wheels so should have some nice photos of the new setup soon. He's also going to check for any faults.

Ross looked at the wheels and was impressed how low someone had set it up! He mentioned that the back tyres were stretched with a camber which meant that it could go ever lower! All good for the last owner but I can't even get over the speed humps at work lol. Hence the need for new adjustable coilovers.

Here is the car just before I dropped her off.

Car is back with the new suspension, wheel spacers and new alloys. Still not quite sure about the stance of the car (I think it could go lower) but I'm really happy with the drive now. Feels like a modern car instead of a go-cart :D

I've got a big list from RBM mechanics of smaller niggles and improvements that could be made that I asked for on the inspection and full service so that will be next on the list.

I was putting the roof down this morning and my finger slipped off the switch about a second in, just as the windows went down.

Now the roof switch doesn't appear to do anything at all. Is there some way to reset it?
