Just as a follow up to this, there is another Mod for the steering column where a grease nipple is added to the column! Any one have any info on this?

Yes, I have done (actually my mechanic did it) to my '04 3.0I. A HUGE improvement. Still room for improvement, but not worth the time or money to me. A young mechanically inclined guy would have no problem doing the grease nipple thing or the slip ring adjustment.
