So, just for you who didnt/don't know, your Z4 roof motor lives inside one of these in the n/s quarter panel. If you're very lucky it will look like this inside if it has been replaced,

but most likely it will be damp and rust stained like this but much worse.

Luckily for all of us Mike has caught these motors before they got terminally corroded and now they reside in the dry comfort of the boot and you would never know to look in there. Excellent.

Tony.

ps. After seeing all those nice clean cars yesterday I felt I had to give mine a lick and a promise.

Nice to meet a few of you yesterday and really happy the mess that was my roof motor has been sorted. Managed to buff out the scratches from the incident with the bush, just a few dents to pull!
Oh no. Would that be the bush half way up Tonys drive by any chance? I've been close a few times lol.

And some end up looking like this;

Although this was still brought back to full working order, and has been running that way for the last 18 months..

Was a good day Paul, I was surprised when the sun started to show itself and makes a Z day great.

That is the one! Was a bit to scared to hit Tony's conservatory and went a bit far! managed to polish the scuffs out but it has drawn my attention to 3 trolley dents near it which definitely weren't caused by the bush, quarter panel will have to come off to get rid of those soon, apologies if i damaged your bush tony!

You didn't hit it hard enough to damage the bloody thing Jake, I wish it would curl and die then I could get shot of it mate. So sorry you damaged your car.:(

Tony.

ps. A dent man may well be able to sort those dings without too much trouble. Amazing what they can do.

It's alright it was me not being able to reverse! Probably going to leave them as got a paintless repair quote and it's as much as to paint it due to labour costs of getting the panel off, I've tested on people and apparently you can't see them unless you knew they were there so not a big problem :) still all in cheaper than getting the roof motor done at a garage!

I nearly went through it on the first pass, just checked the o/s mirror in time. Felt under a lot of pressure with all those Zedders watching lol. :playful:
