The plug is situated under the throttle body. the plug has 2 pins this doesn't match with the 3 pin plugs that go on the throttle body. Had endoscope all around the area and can find no socket for the pin to go into? It currently is sat near the fuel rail but has enough flexibility to go under the throttle body or side of block / head. Any ideas?

Don't think its that, theres a switch located in situ at the base of the oil filter

The only ones I can see are the two obvious ones, plus the camshaft sensor , plus the one below the oil filter as photo.

And the one that goes to the bottom of the disa valve

It does look like the disa has a red wire like in your picture

Disa plug fitted bit fiddly with the manifold in place but managed to do it (big thanks for the identification guys). New vacuum pipes fitted and air box re installed. Just left to do, Exhaust front pipe, coil pack and cooling cowls. Battery will need charging then hopefully "fingers crossed" the car will start and run. Plan is to run it till warm then after engine flush and coolant renew will be back on the road. Small matter of an MOT and that's it. Still a worry that everything will be sorted after all the work so a tense time ahead but really feel we are nearly there. Not one for targets (left them when i finished work) but would be good to take it to Thoresby Hall May day Monday!

Feeling relieved at the moment, still a bit anxious but more positive. Happy to press on with the repairs and fingers crossed it will be back to its best soon. One big but, i don't want to part with it so when its back running i have to justify having 2 Zeds
too sentimental to let go :whistle:

Its a "Hap Hap Happy day"
Turned the key and after a slight pause, the engine sparked into life initial valve noise "couple of seconds of nightmare scenario" the oil nicely flowing and the engine settled down to the most beautiful noise (next to the birth of the daughter obviously) it sounds smooth, quiet and absolutely wonderful. Still a few jobs to do to get it back on the road but the road is where its heading. Thank you all for your support as ever, Monty's back.
