It's a 2.8 converted to look like an M Coupe, probably Jap import. Not the real McCoy
 
Trouble is someone who hasn't done their homework will buy it thinking they are getting the genuine article.
 
We've seen this problem before where people buy things and don't understand what they are buying, most likely from someone who doesn't know what they are selling.

MOT History Check - 1 MOT 24th Dec 2015 at 109000 kms. I think that says it all!
 
Japanese imports usually have mileage odometers.. When a test is logged you have the choice to input either Miles or Kilometers, possible error?

Actually a 5cyl turbo engine in that would be awesome.
Have a soft spot for the old Audi 5cyl lump but hanging them over the front axle that far made for a different experience... In this it be very interesting...


As for the 'M'arketing the chap is just following BMW's lead with M lookalikes. It least this petrol, NA and has an LSD!
 
This zed has been the topic of intense discussion over on the coupe forum and it would appear has also been over several years on and off when it comes up for sale from time to time. Appears to be an import that someone has tried to emulate an ///M but there are several givaway factors that if you are in the know you can immediatly spot, biggest one being the rear wheel sticking out as the rear subframe is obviously non ///M and wider than legit ///M's.

A little bit naughty for the seller to portray it a rare factory model but as Gaz says possibly they are nieve themselves to the fact.
