some of you have been kind enough to instruct me that the Z3m 5 star 9" wheel will not fit on my 1997 2.8 Z3.
I believe you said the axles are shorter on an Z3m and on a 1.9 car. Does anyone know how far they will stick out past the fender? or what is the difference between the two axle lenghths. Thanks in advance ohhhh knowledgeable ones.

I think that if you can get 4 x front wheels you will be ok.

But you also need to convert to wide body, I think that's what Faheem is proposing to do. I think I'm right in saying that the ///M rear axle is the narrowest of all Z3s?

Tony.

That’s the point. I don’t want 4 front wheels. I want that 9” deep dish look on the rear.

That sucks. The fronts are 7.5” and the tears are 9”. As many aftermarket wheels that are out there, someone could get rich if the made a five star look alike in 8.5 inch with a 32 or 33 offset. To do fronts all around is narrower than what I already have.

Yes the plan is to fit the wide rear wings from the 2.8 and combined with the shorter trailing arm from the 1.9 the M wheels should fit.

I've sourced all the parts, just need to get around to doing it now!

We looked at these on Z3 M Coupe Forum, fantastic wheels, don't know anyone who has purchased any so far. At a guess don't think you get much change out of $5k. Be interesting to know what they actually cost.
Need a lottery win this week and then I'll be ordering some.

I watched wheeler dealers the other night and he got a bespoke set of wheels made for a Ford pop hot rod, they where milled from a single billet and I was surprised that the cost was only £1700

I have some Z3m wheels on my red 2.8,type 40 I think, but they wouldn't get through an MOT here as they stick out a bit, the car is stored in my barn at the moment.i will find a photo.

So my 2.8 wings are already the correct size, right? Do I just need 1.9 trailing arms, or do I also need axles
