Z3 Tilt Shift piccies

Just taken a few piccies of the zed with my home made Tilt Shift lens adapted from a 50mm Olympus lens off of ebay...what do you guys think?

I'm pretty pleased for a first try! :)

Pictures that have been taken using tilt shift lens (professional or DIY) that exaggerates the depth of field:

You can use it to make landscapes look like models, or to make macro shots with exaggerated depth of field like in my photo's.
 
They look great, how do you "adapt" the 50mm lens?

You can do it various ways, the expensive way is to spend ~£1000 on a professional lens, or you can do it the cheapskate way and adapt an old lens something like below:

The idea is that the lens isn't fixed rigidly to the camera body, you can tilt & shift it around to get different focus effects. I already had a duff lens and other parts available so thought I'd have some fun with them!

BTW, the bellow section between the camera body and the lens comes from a Z3, it was previously used to protect the antenna base in my car!
 
Love the effect. I'm keen to learn more. I've got a Minolta 50mm 1.7 but I doubt I'll get anywhere near that narrow with it. How have you actually attached it to the camera? And how do you take the exposure? Excuse me being a bit thick. I can't really make it out on your image. If you're going to ZFest will it be making an appearance? You could have a nice little earner going round taking moody shots of cars and flogging them for a tenner a go!

I'll post up some piccies of my set up when I've got some time. Off to London the weekend so going to try and get some pictures from high vantage points, if I can keep out of the pubs that is! :p :beer

Not going to Zedfest but if you do and manage to get a t/s setup going and earn some £££££££ from taking piccies I think you'll find my consultancy rates are very reasonable! ;)
 
Thanks for the link Wonderloaf and enjoy London - I've been there twice this week with work and it was heaving as people are arriving for the Olympics and exploring. If you are anywhere near the centre or the east then expect it to be busy.
 
We're staying at the Park Plaza at County Hall (got a cheap deal...nice) so will be at the epicentre by the sounds of it!
